BLUE & GOLD

Our annual luncheon honoring the men and women of the S.J.P.D., Santa Clara County Sherriff's Dept. and the California Highway Patrol, a.k.a. the Blue & Gold Banquet, is set for Friday February 27th at noon. We have received some truly generous donations and expect a large turnout. If you have not already made your reservation, contact Phil Griego.

The next committee meeting will be Thursday February 19, which is the 3rd Thursday of that month to get closer to the event in case we need any last minute changes. Contact Phil Griego for more information.

Great News from Our Immediate Past President

Phil Griego taped a 5 minute interview about SJ Exchange Club's 20th Annual Blue & Gold Wounded in Service Award Banquet. Phil was interviewed by Roy Avila of Channel 36 for his Q&A program for Community Events News. The program aired Sunday morning January 25 at 9 AM. Phil was able to tell the history and origins of the club and the Awards and the great benefit to the community this program brings. The B&G Committee hopes this increased publicity will generate more community interest in the program. The committee is also working on a similar interview with Channel 11.

-- Phil Griego, Immediate Past President

Don't Miss Cathy Adams . . .

Ms. Adams is a personal trainer and is coming to speak to our group on February 17th. In addition to the wonderful information she will impart, one lucky attendee will receive a special gift, valued at over $90.00. Bring a friend. This will be a great opportunity to introduce someone to the Exchange Club of San Jose

Covenant of Service

Accepting the divine privilege, of single and collective responsibility as life's noblest gift, I covenant with my fellow Exchangites:

To consecrate my best energies to the uplifting of Social, Religious, Political and Business ideals;

To discharge the debt I owe to those of high and low estate who have served and sacrificed that the heritage of American citizenship might be mine;

To honor and respect law, to serve my fellow men, and to uphold the ideals and institutions of my Country;

To implant the life-giving, society-building spirit of Service and Comradeship in my social and business relationships;

To better serve in Unity with those seeking better conditions, better understanding and greater opportunities for all.
