Blue & Gold - What a Success!

Last Friday the Exchange Club of San Jose held the Blue & Gold Wounded in Service Awards Banquet at the Wyndham hotel. Attended by several prominent dignitaries, we honored dedicated peace officers that were killed or wounded in the line of duty, having placed their life in harm's way in order to protect our citizens. We also unveiled our membership video for the audience and it was well received.

Kudos to Phil Griego and the rest of the members of the committee that devoted so much time and energy to ensuring the event proceeded without a hitch. The Exchange Club thanks Steve Radunich and Lynda Brown who stepped up to the plate and helped register guests. Jerry Hall did a great job officiating over the event as our President. The color guard presented by Oak Grove R.O.T.C. was outstanding as always.

The San Jose Police Department sent the following words of thanks:

I would like to thank you and the members of the Exchange Club of San Jose, for another successful Blue & gold banquet held on Friday, February 27, 2004. The recognition that your organization displays toward law enforcement and particularly , to those men and women injured or killed in the line of duty, will forever be grateful for your efforts. Last weeks luncheon was a testament to true community service, the corner stone of the Exchange Club.

Again, thank you for all you do to help make San Jose a safer community for us all. Please pass along my sincere appreciation to the membership of the Exchange Club of San Jose.

Match Game Anyone?

Any one familiar with the popular Match Game on TV will want to do this. The City Lights Theatre is hosting a fundraising event that will be lots of fun. Buffet meal, wine and beer, silent auction, a chance at prizes and competition in a Match Game and DANCING AFTERWARDS TO PHIL'S BAND "OFF THE RECORD."

We need teams of 6 at $300 a team. Phil is willing to sponsor a team for up to $150 if you all will pony up the remaining $25. That's $25 for a fun game filled competition, dinner, drinks and dancing and entertainment. You can't beat that with a stick.

The event will take place on April 25, 2004, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at City Lights Theater on South Second Street.

Who will join Phil's team? Contact Phil at pgriego@mindspring.com
