CIOPPINO TICKETS ARE READY

Rob Nuddleman has the tickets for the Cioppino Night. Members are expected to sell at least one table. The member who sells the most tables will get a special prize. Tickets are $35.00 per person or a table of 8 for $245.00 (that's 8 for the price of 7). Just let Rob know how many tickets you want to take. Once you sell the tickets, give the money to Rob. If you don't sell the tickets Rob gives you, you must return the tickets to Rob. Tickets can be held at the door (Will-Call) for people that pay for their tickets in advance. People will also be able to purchase tickets at the door, but they may be more expensive.

We have some great raffle prizes and silent auction items this year. We are also DOUBLING THE CRAB!! Rob will have flyers at the next meeting that members can take and distribute or display.

This week we inducted two more members: John Font and Ken McReynolds. Both members promise to be a wonderful addition to our club.

We expect to induct Mel Keyes as soon as his paperwork comes in from National.

The Santa Clara County Children's Interview Center Needs Help/Donations

JaneAnne Jeffrey is the coordinator for the Children's Interview Center. The CIC is a safe place for children to be interviewed regarding criminal actions taken against them. Instead of subjecting children to repeated invasive interviews, the CIC limits the number of interviews a minor victim must endure.

Unfortunately, the CIC is in need of a major overhaul. The antiquated look and feel of the CIC needs to be improved to better facilitate interviews and to help victims feel more at ease. The club voted to recommend to the Board to make a $500.00 donation out of our project fund to help with the makeover. People wishing to make a donation to the CIC can send donations to Rob Nuddleman (make checks payable to the Exchange Club of San Jose who will then write one check to the CIC).

Get ready for the Exchange Club Social . .

Exchange Club Social tentatively planned for May 23 at New Almaden Valley Quicksilver Mines Park. A van excursion throughout the wonderful hiking trails, see old ruins, ghost town, old school house, abandoned mines, and enjoy a picnic lunch.

Cost $5.00 plus what you bring to eat and drink. Lots of picnic area. Exact time to be announced.

The meeting speaker May 18 will be from the Park and will tell us all about what we're going to see. Call Lynda Brown for more details.

"J.E.T." Setter Ends This Month

Join Exchange Today (J.E.T.) runs between February 1, 2004 and April 30, 2004. The new member and the new member's sponsor could win a gift certificate worth up to $100 off your next airline ticket. Just have your new member fill out a membership application and ask your Club Secretary to place a "J.E.T." sticker on the application before he sends it in. You'll be "leavin' on a jet plane," in no time. Ask Membership Chair, Phil Griego, for more details.

Feel Free to pre-sell tickets. $35.00 per ticket or $245 per table of 8.

Postcards for the Cioppino Night have already been sent out to other Exchange clubs and guests. If you have specific persons or groups you want to receive the "advance" postcard, e-mail the names and addresses to Rob. Flyers and the official invitations will go out in the beginning of April.
