June 9 set for Youth of the Year. Jerry Hall has already started the process and will provide more details later.
District Convention next month June 19-22. Jon Rensen will arrange for a hospitality suite at the hotel for Thursday night, so mark you calendars. If you have never attended a convention, this is your chance.
The Search For Talent Contest alone is worth the weekend.
Installation Dinner is set for July 11 with no host bar at 6 PM and dinner at 7. Location and price to be announced.
It's time for consideration of the Exchangite of the Year Award. Would all past recipients of that award please contact Phil Griego with their nominations.
We had two great speakers from Mariposa Financial, Jill Coleman, and her partner Ursula. Their talk, Building Bridges, was very interesting and sparked an offer from Jill and Ursula to help facilitate some ideas on membership and recruitment. Every member expressed an interest in attending. This would be especially helpful for the executive team and all the incoming officers, although the general membership is invited to attend.
We have set Saturday, May 24, at 9 AM for this event. We plan to be finished before noon and we can find a place for lunch afterwards. Their office is located at 16400 Los Gatos Blvd, Suite 200, LG corner at Lark, 353-2125, cell 375 0250. Please contact Phil Griego with your commitment to attend so we can advise Jill and get reservations for lunch
For those members who
did not make it to Cioppino Night, you missed a great party! What a night! A
HUGE round of applause for Lori Formusa for steering this through to success.
Lori's husband, Rich Haslacher, deserves a big pat on the back for all his help
this year and every year we've had
this event. Thanks to Bruce Newgren, Jon Rensen and all their helpers we had
a wonderful meal. Special thanks to Jennifer Patrick for selling oodles
of raffle tickets. Early calculations by our financial team promise another
healthy boost to our project fund even though we had 25% less attending this
year.
The Board had a post mortem last night and came up with some ideas for improvement next year. Any members with suggestions please forward them to Lori Formusa or any of the board members. The biggest improvement we can make next year is for individual members to sell more tickets. We are working on a mailing list to get at least those who attended this year to return again.
As one attendee stated:
"Thank you for
another great Cioppino Night! The cioppino was great and "Off
The Record" sounded fabulous. I'm hoping to bring some of our friends to
next year's Cioppino Night :->"

To implant the life-giving, society-building spirit of Service and Comradeship in my social and business relationships;
To better serve in Unity with those seeking better conditions, better understanding and greater opportunities for all.
