A Message from our Division 10 Director, Bonita Gibson:

The year is coming to an end, Presidents are moving into that state of bliss and President-Elects are beginning to feel the excitement of new opportunities. Before we make that transition, I would like to make a request. Please read the description of the program below QFK and see if your club could make at least a $25.00 contribution. It would be a wonderful end of the year report if we could say "Every club in Division 10 participated" and made a difference in the lives of children.

Also:

The "Join the Family" Program is a great way to encourage our family Members to join us in our Exchange Clubs also as Members, but I believe the idea was to have no "Joining Fees" whatsoever.

As I understand it, it is being suggested to the Club's Boards that they do not charge any "Joining Fee" for Immediate Family Members for the months of May and June. Therefore National is waiving their part (which happens to be $10) so that the Clubs will follow suit and there be no "Joining Fee". This is not about $10, this is about that we want and need more of our valued Family Members to be involved with our Great Exchange Clubs, and a total waiving of the "Joining Fee" was the reward to join up now in May or June. As stated above, National did their part by waiving their administrative fee ($10), but each Club has to decide if they wish to participate in the Program by waiving the total "Joining Fee".

We hope they do, and we hope that you all use this incentive to your and Exchange's best interest. As Exchange Leaders we all need to work to Grow Exchange. Unity for service!!!

Don't forget about our Associate Membership. Associate members only pay $10.00 per month, plus $15.00 for any lunch attended. This will enable new members, who may not be able to attend luncheons very often, to still enjoy the benefits of Exchange.

Join The Family. Throughout May and June 2002 Exchange is conducting the Join The Family program. For this special time Exchange is waiving the $10 new member administration fee for spouses and family members that join their local Exchange Club during May and June.

Visit www.nationalexchangeclub.com for information and an online certification card or call 800/XCHANGE.

Who will be the winner? Quarters for kids Deadline in almost here!

Attention club and district leaders, the deadline for the 2002 Quarters for Kids Treasure Chest campaign is June 30, 2002. This means the district whose clubs combine to make the most donations sent in to the foundation will be the winner of the nations Quarters for Kids Treasure Chest campaign.

The campaign places an emphasis on the following:

  1. To raise funds for Exchange's child abuse prevention and youth related efforts;
  2. to encourage all Exchange Clubs to participate in the national QFK Treasure Chest campaign;
  3. To build a Treasure Chest collection of toys and basic necessity items that will be given to less fortunate families and children.

For every club that donates $25 or more to the QFK Treasure Chest campaign, a toy or basic item will be placed in the treasure chest in the name of the club (only one toy or gift will be purchased per club). To date there are approximately 126 clubs participating, with many more expected to make donations by the deadline. The winning district will be announced at the 84th Annual Convention in Minneapolis, Minn., during the Saturday morning Child Abuse Prevention breakfast.

The more your club donates, the more awards your club can achieve, and greater your chances are of helping your district win the national QFK Treasure Chest. For your dedicated efforts in the campaign, the NEC Foundation will recognize those outstanding clubs who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

So, time is of the essence! It's not too late to make a donation on behalf of your club and district. If you would like further information , please contact Jamie Orians, Marketing Director, Child Abuse Prevention Services, 800-924-2643.
