Don't forget that we will not have a speaker on Tuesday, October 14th. Instead, we will hold our monthly Board Meeting. All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Topics will include New Member Nominations, the Budget, the President-Elect vacancy, and Committee Updates including Vietnam Memorial Wall, Christmas Party, District Luncheon, Dear Santa, Blue & Gold

The meeting will begin at the usual time: 12:15 p.m. Please contact Rob Nuddleman at 408-293-6341 or via e-mail at Nuddleman@mindspring.com so he will know how big of a room to reserve.

STAND UP AMERICA PROGRAM IS BACK

For the months of October and November, you can sponsor a member to join Exchange and they will receive free membership for 90 days.

The initiation fee will be deferred for 90 days and the new member does not have to pay any dues for the first three months. This program is good only for members signed up in the months of October and November.

This is a great opportunity to bring in new members! We've already had three prospective members take advantage of this opportunity. This is a great chance to build our club.

BLUE & GOLD MEETINGS

Any member interested in learning more about the Blue & Gold Award Committee activities are invited to attend the meetings.

We will meet at Phil's office, with occasional excursions to fun places, at 6 PM, 95 S. Market Street, Suite 500, every 2nd Thursday of the month. The next meetings are set for November 13, December 11, and January 8.

We will meet Thursday February 19, which is the 3rd Thursday of that month to get closer to the event in case we need any last minute changes.

A REPORT ON THE JUNIOR EXCHANGE

- from Lori Formusa

I just called in to the Junior Exchange meeting and spoke with Grace Maestas, and with Jr. Exchange club president, Bie Mwengela. They concluded the "Club Rush" on September 18, and our Junior Exchange Club won first place for the second year in a row. Their first place won them a prize of $75.00 for their club. They had 140 kids sign up for the club. It is the most popular club on campus.

They meet on Thursdays, at 12:20 p.m., room 306. Today, they are collecting membership applications and fees. Next week I will be speaking to the Club about ourselves and our projects and what we do together. Bie confirmed that once again we will be doing Christmas Party and Cioppino Night together. I will give them the dates.

First project of Junior Exchange is - Walk for Aids, October 19. A representative from WalkforAids will be at next Thursday's meeting.
