The meal was wonderful, the host was entertaining, and the theater was an all around good show. All who attended had a wonderful time. If you have not seen "Comic Potential" over at City Lights, go see it. You won't regret it. The Exchangites who saw it liked it so much, I think everybody purchased season tickets.
Laura Berkey, the speaker at last Tuesday's meeting, educated the group on the Cycle of Life. Laura explained that all things goes through certain cycles, whether it is the growth of a child, a business or personal relationship, or a company. Learning the cycle helps individuals understand where they are in the cycle and can ease tension in numerous situations. Thanks Laura for the wonderful talk. We hope she will join us again in the future.
We just received word that the Tri-Valley Exchange Club in the east bay has resurrected. Thanks in large part to the efforts of Barry Schrader, one of Tri-Valley's members. Currently, the group is composed primarily of Livermore Lab employees and contractors. While they are not in the Califormia-Nevada District, they will try to join some of our functions and would love it if we could join some of theirs. To learn more information about the Tri-Valley Exchange Club, download their newsletter. You can also contact Barry Schrader at Schrader2@llnl.gov.
Covenant of Service
Accepting the divine privilege, of single and collective responsibility as life's noblest gift, I covenant with my fellow Exchangites:
To consecrate my best energies to the uplifting of Social, Religious, Political and Business ideals;
To discharge the debt I owe to those of high and low estate who have served and sacrificed that the heritage of American citizenship might be mine;
To honor and respect law, to serve my fellow men, and to uphold the ideals and institutions of my Country;
To implant the life-giving, society-building spirit of Service and Comradeship in my social and business relationships;
To better serve in Unity with those seeking better conditions, better understanding and greater opportunities for all.
